The Remediation Plus System is a vital standardized solution in a user-friendly curriculum that assists teachers to teach research based reading and spelling on a clinically developed comprehensive curriculum (multisensory explicit systematic synthetic phonics).

 

The R+ System teaches the 44 speech sounds in a systematic curriculum. Every lesson has direct instruction in hearing the phoneme, developing the phoneme grapheme correspondence and segmenting the phonemes from speech. We teach students that the grapheme of phonemes changes on placement.

 

We also teach students the rules of the English Language. There are 7 rules in total and each lesson has been fully developed clinically. The R+ System systematically teaches the students the 6 lessons on syllables for their success in both reading and spelling of multisyllabic words.

 

This system includes  85 sequential lesson plans - everything a teacher needs to become a powerful remediator–interventionist and a profoundly knowledgeable reading teacher. At the end of the sequence teachers use the R+ grammar curriculum to learn to:

  • teach parts of speech in a sentence
  • review all word types, nouns, verbs, adjectives, pronouns etc.
  • teach the Main idea and semantic webbing from existing text
  • teach retelling the story
  • teach students to create their own stories with proper writing instruction

Based on the test results, students begin on the appropriate concepts, systematically and cumulatively within the complete curriculum of lesson plans. There is no preparation time. Mastery of all concepts is guaranteed – success for student and teacher alike!
